TLDR:
- Jason Osni and his partner, Amy Roberts, renovated a 500-square-foot trailer in Malibu to create a warm and woody cocoon.
- They enlisted the help of Alana Marie of Alana Marie Interiors and contractor Jeff Spiegel of Heartwood Construction & Design to bring the trailer back to life.
This 500-square-foot trailer in Malibu was transformed into a cozy retreat by Jason Osni and his partner, Amy Roberts. The trailer, originally in poor condition, was revamped with wood panels on the walls, floors, and ceilings to create a warm backdrop for their belongings. Working with Alana Marie Interiors and Heartwood Construction & Design, they maximized the space to include a functional kitchen, retro-style appliances, and lots of shelves for storage.
The renovation aimed to open up the cramped and dark spaces, bringing more light and a better flow to the unit. Embracing a coastal aesthetic, the trailer features walnut wood countertops and cabinets, cedar wood walls, ceilings, and floors, and Moroccan zellige tiles in the bathroom. The design also incorporated elements inspired by Sea Ranch, California, and sculptor JB Blunk, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.
Despite the small footprint, the trailer now feels spacious and welcoming, with a mixture of colors, shapes, and textures in the furnishings. The exterior was refreshed with a sandy hue and Douglas fir trims to complement the cozy interior. The end result is a modern twist on the 1950s trailer vibe, offering a homey and stylish retreat that reflects the couple’s shared interests.
