TLDR:

  • This farmhouse is a modern creation designed to look like a Tudor-style home.
  • The interiors blend rustic elements with contemporary design, creating a cozy and stylish space.

This rustic farmhouse, built to resemble a Tudor-style home, was refurbished by Angus Reid Projects for a young Anglo-Swedish couple. The house features weathered brick, ancient beams, and flagstones, giving it an old-world charm. The interiors combine rustic elements with modern luxuries like underfloor heating, creating a comfortable and inviting space.

Angus Reid Projects focused on creating a cozy home with generous pieces centered around fireplaces, perfect for informal entertaining. The furniture was scaled up to fit the spacious rooms, including a farmhouse dining table and a large kitchen island. The color palette ranges from chalky whites to warm tobacco hues, complementing antiques and mid-century pieces.

The interiors feature textured finishes like handcrafted plaster pendant lights and antique Delft tiles. The design team also incorporated botanical prints and patterned wallpapers, adding depth and interest to the spaces. The headboards in the bedrooms are upholstered in striking block prints, creating a focal point in the vaulted rooms.

Angus Reid’s serene and considered style of decorating translates beautifully to the country setting, with an uncluttered approach creating a sense of calm. The designer’s inspiration includes Alvar Aalto’s interiors and furniture, highlighting a blend of old and new in design. The farmhouse reflects a modern take on Tudor architecture, showcasing a harmonious fusion of rustic charm and contemporary style.
